Physicians' Association for Anthroposphical Medicine
The Physicians' Association for Anthroposophical Medicine was founded in 1981. It is the only physicians' organization which promotes Anthroposophical Medicine in North America. PAAM regularly sponsors lectures, conferences and educational events throughout the United States, and interfaces with other organizations interested in developing Anthroposophical Medicine. Its aim is to facilitate personal contact and exchange of knowledge betweenAnthroposophical health practitioners. PAAM is affiliated with the International Federation of Anthroposophical Medical Associations and the Medical Section of the School for Spiritual Science at the Goetheanum in Dornach, Switzerland.

Fields of activity:
  • Co-ordination and propagation of research and development of anthroposophic medicine world-wide.
  • Organisation of conferences in the field of anthroposophic medicine with regard to education and postgraduate training.
  • Propagation of pluralism in medical science and freedom of choice of treatment for patients and doctors.


International Federation of Anthroposophic Medical Associations
The areas of work of the IVAA include:
  • Representation of the national anthroposophic doctors associations on an international level regarding medico-legal affairs.
  • Co-ordination of activities of national anthroposophic doctors associations on an international level with regard to medico-legal affairs.
  • Safeguarding the legal status of anthroposophic medicine.
  • Communication with politicians and representatives of administrations and health authorities on an international level.
  • Preparation of educational, training and research issues for discussion with politicians and health authorities.
