Its embryonic development clearly shows a relationship to the individual nature, the I, of the human being. Spinal conditions such as herniated nucleus pulposus in adults are considered in the light of vertebral-column developmental dynamics; the equilibrium between buoyancy and gravity, powers of light and substantiality, is seen as determining spinal development and health.
